History
After managing a factory for Allied Signal with over 1,200 employees, Mike Crill joined a young Software.com as their CFO. While there, Mike observed that although every business needs a CFO, in the beginning stages they don't necessarily need one full time. After a year there, Mike founded Atlas in 1996 to be that part-time CFO for tech companies. The goal of Atlas was to work with start-ups: providing them with high-level CFO expertise that would otherwise be unobtainable, while respecting their needs to be cash conservative. By 2005, Mike's roles in working with emerging growth companies had expanded from CFO to include COO, executive coach, board member, and strategic advisor.

By bringing on Michael Cockrill as a Managing Partner, and Parag Vaish as Principals, Atlas has expanded to offer world class Sales & Marketing and Product Development practices. Atlas is now providing the full suite of execution-oriented services that early stage entrepreneurs need, building product, selling products and operating their companies. Atlas has worked with over 100 companies over 10 years and today the Atlas team is actively working with around fifteen companies. For over a decade, the Atlas model hasn't changed: to provide services as members of the executive teams, and to respect to the conservative cash needs of our clients. As a result, we continue to work primarily for stock, and scale with our clients as their needs grow.
